They make “orins (bells)” so that their customers can enjoy their inspirational sounds more often.
The sound of an orin gives people different impressions: “somewhat nostalgic,” “heart-warming” or “refreshing.” Find a bell you like from their orin selection and enjoy the sound every day.
The sound of your orin will positively effect and enrich your everyday life. Ring the bell to be ready for a new day when you get up in the morning, to relax if you are busy, to relax during meditation or yoga, or during prayer time at the family altar.

Unique sound created by “sahari”
They were established more than 190 years ago. They are the only company in Japan which has been making “narimono shinbutsu gu”—ritual items which “ring” and are used at temples and shrines, such as handheld gongs for the Gion Festival—and “orins” used at home. They manufacture their products using traditional techniques and carefully selected materials.
They do each process completely by hand, all the way from creating the mould to polishing the bell. Thus, they are able to create a unique sound for each bell.
They use an alloy of copper and tin called “sahari” for the bells.
In order to utilize the characteristics of the materials and create this unique sound, they combine their secret copper to tin ratio and traditional technique of burning molds with firewood before casting.
